Job
There is good news. I have a job, Yippee! And then also really good one. Organised by the school, I had another interview, a jeweler in the area. The interview was, in my opinion, somewhat exaggerated. I was asked what I know about the company, according to strengths and weaknesses and what I think the secret sale is. They were looking for an employee who works 25 hours a week and a minimum charge of $ 5000 is required per week. In about 20 applicants I was pretty sure I would not get the job.
On all other issues (I have given my resume to about 10 other shops and restaurants), there was no response, and then I have also told others at school or that it has been 3 months or meht for a job . Search
My luck came with my Gastfam, John came home one afternoon and reported that he has spoken with the owner of his favorite cafes in the area and it happened to me have come to speak. She said that she still who could use in their cafe.
The interview was then not as a big spectacle like the jewelry, I got the job in principle already.
Work is totally fun! As I do not as well versed with all meals and drinks, I am far indeed most rinse the dishes, but with all the yummy food around you, it's just much more pleasant:)
far I worked for three days, three hours, unfortunately I can not soo much more because the cafe closes every day at 4 and yes I usually have school by then (remember the loooong way to school and inflexible bus)
My boss is originally from China, and her name is Rachel is incredibly nice, kind and understanding. She pays close attention to the fact that it works well, but they are also very like to eat or drink something delicious. I just hope I learn fast to accept the orders is really not easy, especially since I have the whole name of the offers do not yet know and this is then also mixed with unknown words can. And I very much hope that Rachel does not regret to have stopped me. Even if I get paid only minimum wage base, the job is really worth it to me.
The travel on the weekend it is now probably difficult, but I did over Christmas and New Year can be free and there on the South Island. Only with the planning, I would soon start again.
Last weekend I was back on the road, with a few people from school, since a one of them last week, bought a car that fit the 6 people. So we went on to Coromandel, an area located west, with very small towns and beautiful beaches. The most popular is the Hot Water Beach, a beach, under which a lava reservoir, so there are certain places where the soil is red hot. The funny story is that many, especially if the water is too cold for swimming actually still bring a shovel and, during low tide, dig their own small whirlpool in the water can then flow. We were also busy on the ditch, because it is a sandy matter, however, we have gone straight in a bikini. Since it was very cold but the day, everyone has just watched, that he can lie down as quickly as possible into the warm water. Thus was our pit rather flat, and someone always had the thankless task "nachzubuddeln" again. It was not easy to find the optimal water temperature. While some places too hot , it is a few inches away to turn cold. A
recommended in any case, adventure;)
school is running normally, but I have thought about whether I can shorten it any more, and April is still a pretty long time. recover money I have no chance I could change at most after a post at the school after Chrsitchurch to know in detail the South Island. I think basically a pretty good idea, I would not mind to move into an apartment and even to test the living alone, but for the job would be a shame and also have I give an audition for the Auckland Youth Orchestra in December. Christ Church has even one, but I do sober when the samples and have concerts. Earthquake risk and it certainly is. Nevertheless, I would love more is on the South Island and Auckland is no such beautiful and above all very expensive city. Hmm difficult, difficult. At the moment, but first I plan to stay here, my host family would have against a bad conscience, they really do much for me and I feel like I am here really well.
Last week I was quite dissatisfied with everything. the group at the weekend was kind of not so acute, Category: I go to New Zealand because I want to party. No, it was a fun weekend, but there was now no one with me, which I would have understood me really well.
in my class is a very nice Swiss-French girl, with her I was once on the road now, and with the group that I've met in Paihia, I still have contact. They're great! I hope that I will soon meet again, is difficult because they live so close to Wellington.
The weather also makes good progress, the sun shines almost all day and looks more and more people go swimming in the sea. It is still quite cold, but soon it can really kick in with a swim;)
