Goodbye Laos and Hello Thailand - Huay Xai, Chiang Rai

na hers:)

since yesterday we are in the "lion's den" in thailand! yes, and we are so far very pleased with this official decision, because the Foreign vieeel already reads better:) we should return home in 2.5 weeks from now so nothing's perspective in the way!

always rest with the ... first of all have new flavors of laos. in the Lao Huay Xai grenzstaedtchen Indeed, we have spent a day before we limit the crossed over the Mekong River into Thailand.

so much about the city itself could not be there to report, except that we are in a NEN very nice guest house room had what a little like "Grandma's parlor." Full-itschig and kitschy with rueschengardinen and such. but then this big television, the one almost kills when you enter the room .. But the most amazing - the balcony overlooking our friends Mekong and Thailand on the other shore. there's some way in Asia every day a beautiful sunset. why? can someone eklaeren of you?
as we were so once again on the balcony watching a beautiful sunset we saw suddenly a yellow jacket Other recurring on the road! It was Sunok, of South Korea, we had taken with her husband in luang nam tah (Laos). Now if that is not random, we thought and waved it wildly from the balcony until she recognized us. GISU, her husband was once again .. on hostel search when he came and saw us he was very happy and asked if we want to eat with them tonight. -Of course!
therefore went together on the evening's foray into Huay Xai on the search for a good cheap restaurant with live music. these were at least the entitlements of GISU. it was really sooo funny how he chunks his few English can speak it, from restaurant to restaurant hirschte and always acted like a guitar player to make it clear that he wants to live music. .. Unfortunately we did not find any live music, but for a good and inexpensive restaurants .. or shall we say food stands better. oh we treated ourselves to a real festmal! 3 patients (Servings), had a stomach chicken gemueseteller, fries dish, green papaya salad and rice soup for Sunok that bissl problems with her. According to the Asian culture, of course, we shared everything together, including the alcoholic: beer and whiskey .. na lao again .. hicks !..;) we had a lot of fun even if the communication was difficult. but so limited you are just a few words such as ". we back germany x-mas" or "you south korea spicy food?" .. Is so nice sometimes as long as you are aware of their normal levels is english again:) but it is also of madness, what words of less and tell bissl facial expressions and gestures may all! GISU NEN is real odd bird, he always laughs loudly and then coughing it. then he always skin with pure Korean words, if not the English word he knows and laughs with this again half dead, no, that is, the totally rips!
we still had a very nice last night in Laos.

next day, the 3.12. Went on to Thailand's so! using the boot we were as wobbly ruebergeschifft and then were of a very militarily-inspired Thai customs officials with "Sawai-dee kap" welcomed. So now we had .. Thai soil under their feet, which felt but not different from Lao, except that it was a bit muddy on the shore We met three older hippie freak and several men who operated a bookstore. we exchanged our thai laos lonely planet into a lonely planet and noticed too late that we had used the English version .. nu yes, yes sometimes nice and maybe a wink, hint, that I (Christy) again should brush up on my English. .. The one we asked for the hippie bus station, because we wanted to go straight to chiang rai. as he led us to the tuk tuk, he suddenly spoke German and said that he was in 1970 in the GDR. but he himself was originally from Ireland and his comment was this: "I'm from the ira I'd rather stay here." Ok ..:)

the bus trip to Chiang Rai was very dusty. we had to constantly keep the sweater over his mouth and nose (which has its rainy season that is so benefits) and have gotten us to have bought mouthguard in Vietnam not as something great. the use in so we could have some situation in Southeast Asia ..
was nice but the encounter with a Thai woman in the years since two lives in Switzerland. really funny is, a Thai-Swiss-German dialect:)

arrived in chiang rai, we were first flashed full of the civilization that is here to experience it very consumer-oriented. memories of Malaysia and Singapore were high as we all the shopping malls, cars and people-watched. but it is for us surely a gentle exit from the traditional South East Asia toward European consumption society.
yeah, and as we discovered here so the streets entlangflanierten We re not really a yellow jacket in the human hubbub! obviously, it was Sunok, of South Korea, the back with our luggage was waiting for her husband, who in search of a good and cheap hostel was. funnily enough, they even checked into our hostel! .. And now we have met again by chance on the street, and this evening we will meet semi-random, identified half on the night market:)

we are happy!
soon,
martin and Chrissi:) love
