The long road to Laos ... and the 4000 Islands

hallöchen love her:)

we are in Laos! and reach in this country was not so easy .. three days we went by minibus to Ban Lung in kambdoscha over the limit. us, a direct transport to the 4000 islands in Laos promised that our first goal should be in the new land. which stretched up to that time was not sooo far back (about 300km). but it lasted long eeeeewig! after a few minutes huckelpiste burst once again behind the attack .. contact us at It jerked and banged, and we stopped.

took our driver's left - the tires will be here probably went to burst - and the new tire was on the line installed in half an hour. it went straight on to the closest town, where we were to suddenly get all of them. another bus from there we should take 2 hours later to our goal. hmm, that was not identified! Yes .. but it does nothing, as is his destiny to be joined and wait. the other bus just drove 3 hours later and finally go up to the limit and everything went quite well. arrived we had to get out and show our passports to customs officials. yes, and since we took a shock when the officers said that our Cambodian visa for 5 days was exaggerated and the country illegally so we were! .. Ui, we wondered what would happen now, we painted grungy gefaengniszellen from .. but our "punishment" was lucky to "only" money. at the rate of day 5 U.S. dollars. So 25us dollar per-person. .. That hurts when you consider what you do with the total in Asia can do. Change yes but we could not and we also came as no great problems over the limit. .. landed the 50dollar with great safety in the coffee fund customs officials .. and still more U.S. dollars for the Lao officials that a "handling fee" required by any passers-by.

Juti, because there we were in Laos, in our 5th land during the trip. The bus trip was to continue Lao side a few miles, then the bus stopped again and we had to get out again. even now it was said that we should wait for another bus to take us directly to the crossing boat with putting on the islands should be. okay .. This time we had to wait only 45 minutes and then finally managed directly, albeit with half a boat crash landing, to our goal:) are

the 4000 islands numerous islets in the Mekong, which originated here in southern Laos as sandbaenke are, as the water in front of two large waterfalls, such as in a giant baecker dammed. we lived on the island of Don Det in a small hut with hammocks on the terrace. It is suuuuper chill there! Laos is anyway already chilling as Southeastern Asian country verschriehen, but don det is nothing going on at all times yes! or is all very cozy, because tourism can be found there already. otherwise the local life in their bamboo-and holzhuettchen or to fish or agriculture - rice fields where the eye can see!

on our first full day at Don Det we rented bikes and thus explore the island and still another called don khon. Both are equipped with a bridge connected. to don khon's incredibly impressive to see is a waterfall! the water from the Mekong overthrow there in many nebenaermchen in the deep. We encourage brought determines an hour to look around this natural spectacle. Next on our trip to the wheels we discovered again and again small beaches where you can just relax and unwind. .. Bathing in the Mekong, in our view, unfortunately, ni so ne idee good when you consider where the flow comes from and what there so everything gets clean .. yet we saw three girls in there swimming and the local do it anyway .. yeah, and basically is the shower water so only from the Mekong .. hmmm .. So we would still be able to go swimming .. the teeth we have and even with the water inevitably have to clean .. blubb. yes well, back to the bike ride. At the southern tip of Don Khon from, we can again namely the extinction of endangered river dolphins see! Armed with binoculars escaped biologists again nix;)
as it slowly dawned we went back quickly. but it was not easy, because we found ourselves accidental entry to the so-called "off the bridges broken" again .. we thought that the name does not hoffentltlich adduced what he seems to be .. Unfortunately, it was then that! before us was a bridge built out of old rusty train tracks, the makeshift wooden boards with each shaky was provided .. and down we went so some meterchen. Now we also had the wheels while and so had to get across .. Martin ran vorran bravely and had to be saved when I was in panic screaming in the middle of the bridge and not a step would go on longer. .. No, because what do you do with let me tell you! the other was gone without a broken bridge, then fortunately we biked and relaxed in the most beautiful sunset to our cabin.

next and last day on the island we walked around and made it cozy as if by an agricultural excursion. rice fields, chickens, pigs, and raised beds wasserbueffel martin especially fascinated. "Oh, why we can not so live happy and easy lead," I heard him say again and again. so, why not?

today we arrived in Pakse, Laos, our first town. We came here with the local bus. this was perhaps a story! uhraltes a ding! Couches a flatbed with mounted Swiss most forward facing. and everything is open, so the only way swirled hair! but the thing has brought us safely to pakse after all:)

are dear to all pressured!
martin and Chrissi:)

ps: man, I almost forgot to mention that Martin could not make it and bought a bottle of whiskey! and that for as much as only 1us-dollar what the reason was his purchase. the Lao whiskey is cheaper as beer, why are the people here also frequently betuedelt. the thing is that we now have a bottle of alcohol with us rumschleppen hardest, with which everything pulls together when one drinks it. and the bottle is hard .. so martin has already calculated how much we have to drink every day, so we have emptied the bottle in three weeks when we go to thailand ... in this sense CHEERS!
