Saigon and Mekong Delta (Can Tho)

huhu:)

we were ho chih minh-city! we call the city saigon but nevertheless, by proposing the old still common name for the city and is tipped to the other simply faster.
we are moved out of Dalat by night bus to Saigon. we thought namely, clever as we are that we save us accommodation at night when we . Go So we went off in Dalat and 23h, we assumed, at around 7 am in saigon to arrive. well, think again because this time the Vietnamese were faster! already 4:40 clock in the morning the bus stopped in the huge city. We nor verpeilt completely swollen, face, stood like bedaeppert there with our backpack and had to find out first, where we found ourselves at all. But the Vietnamese have scurried around full of energy! in Vietnam begins the day a lot more than in Germany ..
after a while we had a plan: we took the city bus into downtown, where we wanted to find a hotel. a man was so friendly and wanted us to point out if we are to ausseigen. .. Only have martin and he totally unfortunately festgequasselt that we drove past the center and are suddenly at the other end of town on a different bus station were .. uff .. that was really not funny! well, we first have an overall view about Saigon receive major routes, but we were something .. of hundemuede, but only wanted to sleep Now we had to again make a bus ride through the city. Luckily this time everything went smoothly and we finally found a cheap hotel to 8am.
the hotel was really funny because it was primarily not a hotel but a department store, where one can tailor things themselves. who had only just at the top a few rooms left, and have now rented out. the good thing was that the front desk people had no plan and we did not have any aufschwatzen tours. and we had a huge upper terrace, which had a good night life view of Saigon Tourist.

has fallen even though we saigon great - we had real respect bissl because Hanoi was sooo very crowded by people and air pollution - we were only 2 days there.
we schlenderrten about the two days rather aimlessly, drinking now and then a delicious Vietnamese highland coffee with condensed milk and durchstoeberten the stores. the way we did an important thing! - We went to the Cambodian embassy and got us the visa. Finally, here are the days counted in vietnam ..
bor, and we experienced the monsoon! suddenly it started to rain with murderous as outpour bucket as would someone with water! We fled to a house where we had a bissl protection. because we were determined 1h hour .. and waited and admired the drive on the road. they were really hyperhydrated completely in no time! Nevertheless, the motorcyclist drove around like idiots, were sometimes up to half in the water disappeared .. We asked ourselves the whole time, why not an accident happened and schwubbs, slide a motorcyclist on the road and lay flat. but he got up again and went on ..
The next day we landed by chance in the zoo. actually we wanted (or Martin) go to the botanical garden, but then we found ourselves back in the zoo (zoo and botanical garden in saigon one). First, we liked the no, because the maintenance conditions of animals are on the 40 years was in Europe. So you can imagine roughly what we mean .. tiny cages, dirty, no leak, no employment for the animals .. The elephants were considered particularly sad, because all were strolling totally confused their heads back and forth, back and forth, back and forth .. sad thing!

saigon generally been ne city is worth seeing. flashy, colorful, noisy and relatively modern. remembers little city to a western, when the many beggars and mine victim hides the wayside. blatant is the fact that you always back fat Western sees men sit around with chic young Vietnamese .. Sex tourism is ubiquitous. it is sooo bad, as these types exploit the plight of the poor.

because our visa is valid only until the beginning of October, it went pretty fast now further to the southwest to can tho. We drove along the country roads of Vietnam Ti Ni cafe and restaurant by BiBi funny what one side of the road all so striking.) and it was again vomited on the bus! This time it was the woman right next to us .. bissl sensitive are the Asians already evident.
made very frightening and sad, but we face the many sacrifices that you see. here in southern Vietnam is the war to spuehren much stronger than in the north. many many people have limbs missing, it is often the legs. the man dragged himself crawling across the street. The problem is that so many areas were not cleared of the mines in Vietnam and the farmer, if they work on their rice fields every now and connect to a. as we sat in the bus was passing a man. both of his forearms were missing. He was extremely thin, apparently starved. through the open window of the bus, he held an empty bucket down (as well as he could not just poor). Martin gave him a little money. .. It is so sad to see! and somehow we always feel so helpless when we see such people. We ask ourselves, how can we help these people really?

Can Tho is the biggest city in the Mekong delta. the city did not see in themselves have to, but the absolute delta!
yesterday we have an 8 hour boat trip on the branches of the mighty Mekong River and its canals done. It was great going early, the alarm clock rang at 5 am, so we were able to see sunrise on the river. Another reason was to get up for early that on the river floating markets, so-called floating markets, are taking off from 4am in the morning and end at later than 12pm. this is because use the fact that the sun hatches on the water three times more and the Vietnamese want the cooler morning hours. It has been extremely easy - sooo many boats with all sorts of fruits, vegetables and co. the float up there. and we middle of it! It was totally relaxed, because the people have foisted nothing. we were able to go with the work its magic on us and take pictures .. and indeed for quite a lot:) many traders live on their boat, sometimes there are up to 7 people who live on a small boat. electricity and televisions may be absent, of course not, so we saw again the power cable from the river stretched.

in seitenkanaelen was it really idyllic! mangroves, water hyacinth, women with small houses on stilts to wash their laundry in the river, swing in hammocks, the children of us to wave and smile to work, farmers in the rice fields ..
it is a simple, but live very relaxed. great was that the people running a very ecological, sustainable agriculture.

during the boat trip we had always wanted to get out and see us live on river. we visited a rice noodle factory looked rice fields us, banana and mango plantations and returned to an overall in two village cafes.
our boot woman, her name is tan, has given us every now and then an exotic fruit in the mouth and put us much explained and demonstrated (animals, plants, agriculture). yes, and it dominated the wonderful palm-leaf origami!
the boat tour was amazing really nice! , Crazy how different can the people live.

the moment we are sitting still in can tho, but in 1h hour'll be off to Hon Chong. We approach the border of Cambodia! .. And then also as good as half-time ..

are dear
pressured by martin and Chrissi:)
