outside bissl ...
love people:)
after we have let you wait a while, now comes after a tough battle for the internet, our new contributions.
as you know we are in Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh. We arrived last Sunday with the bus and spent the next two days in the city. we looked at a few sights and recovering ourselves from the cold. Cambodia and cities are like all Asian cities rather crowded of people. everywhere is to buy what's driving around motorcycles and people sitting on the street. in phnom penh noticed that it's pretty many are homeless. mothers sleep with their children begging on the sidewalk. It is crazy how fast you are at such a sight "accustomed".
yeah, and since Tuesday, we do voluntary work in an orphanage in Phnom Penh. how we came to that?
in Vietnam, we met Katherine. She worked there for 3 months and told us about it. of course we were very interested. Finally we had to start our journey has decided to help somewhere. She gave us the email address and we finally had the opportunity to do something!
the orphanage was founded seven years ago by a German and called KKEV (child Kambodscha eV). donations have since been living there from Germany. it is outside der stadt umgeben von reisfeldern. im moment befinden sich 18 waisenkinder im alter von 9monaten bis 11jahren hier. zusaetzlich kommen noch jeden tag sogenannte kinder der community, also der umgebung.
auch die angestellten sind super lieb! sie kommen zwar nicht angerannt und druecken uns, aber they take us on here so friendly! there are yee, the financial advisor (originally from Burma), Bonna (manager), the cook, the teacher, the security men, the bus drivers ... yes, and the dieter, or dr. seriously. Dieter is a doctor and comes from Germany. He is the head of a children's hospital set up in Heidelberg and the time here in the center around his room doctor. He is approximately 4 times a year to Cambodia and examines the children. in a year when he retires, he will still get a lot more often. He mixes the load in a very beautiful here! because the Cambodian bissl always need to drive transitions to come, is not happening so much that as the unpacking of packets from Germany and set up the computer terms.
live sinceWednesday we even here in the orphanage. we eat all three meals with the kids and the staff together and integrated super:) we want to work for weeks in total second
we are really happy to be here! help we can get to, super nice people and know their life, do something completely different than traveling - that's what we need right now:)
so more about our everyday life at the orphanage and photos, there's the next time.
are dear pressured by
martin and Chrissi:) huhu
